Coupon — Amazon Coupons
The clip-to-save discount badge on search results and detail pages. Sellers pay a redemption fee for each clipped-and-used coupon on top of the discount itself. The badge lifts click-through, and that visibility is often worth more than the discount mechanics.
Lightning Deal — Lightning Deal
A time-boxed promotion on the Deals page with a countdown and a limited claimable quantity. Requires deal-eligible ASINs and a fee per run. Used for velocity spikes at launch and for clearing inventory before fee thresholds hit.
Best Deal — Best Deal (7-Day Deal)
The longer-format deal placement, running up to a week with a deal badge. Higher fee and quantity commitment than a Lightning Deal in exchange for sustained visibility. Deal names and formats have shifted over the years, so check the current deals dashboard.
Prime Exclusive Discount — Prime Exclusive Discount
A discount shown only to Prime members, with strike-through pricing in search results. It carries no per-redemption fee, and eligibility requires meeting price and rating conditions. A common lever during Prime Day when deal slots are full.
Subscribe & Save — Subscribe & Save
Amazon's subscription program for replenishable products: the buyer commits to recurring deliveries for a discount that the seller funds. It grows lifetime value for consumables and dampens rank volatility with a predictable order base.
Promotion — Seller Central Promotions
Seller Central promotion types such as percentage-off and social media promo codes. They run at the offer level without deal-page placement. Stacking mistakes are the classic failure: overlapping promotions can multiply discounts beyond the intended one.
Brand Tailored Promotion — Brand Tailored Promotions
Targeted discounts for the brand's own shopper audiences, such as cart abandoners and repeat customers. Built on Brand Registry audience segments. One of the few remarketing levers native to Seller Central.
